On March 27, 2007, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) introduced the industry's lowest input voltage DC/DC boost converter, which will enable portable electronic end-equipment to draw power from new energy sources, such as solar and micro-fuel cells.
The tiny power circuit can operate with input voltages lower than 0.

Active in the electronic industry, the SCHURTER Group achieved a very good result in 2006, it increased its sales turnover by 13.5% to CHF 186.4m. Cash flow increased to CHF 16.4m (+37.6%) and the profit amounted to CHF 8.3m (+91.5%).
The substantial increase in profit is primarily due to a positive economic environment, productivity increases and favourable rates of exchange.
In Europe, the sales turnover increased by 13.5% to CHF 141.

Laser Competence Centre Finland (LCC Finland) covers the whole development chain including technology oriented basic research, end users' application development, system integration and testing of lasers as well as training aspects.
The objective is to adapt new laser technologies to the needs of industry so that the companies can experiment and develop their products and their processes by utilising the know-how and hardware of the centre.

Effective from 1st January 2007, SCHURTER Holding AG in Lucerne, Switzerland, manufacturer and supplier of electronic and electro-mechanical components worldwide, took over the Swiss company of TICOMEL SA, Mendrisio, as well as their affiliated company INTERELECTRONIK in Romania.
With more than 500 employees, TICOMEL SA produces electro-mechanical components. The product range comprises chokes, network filters as well as customer specific SMD printed circuit board assemblies for the industrial electronic and telecommunication industries.
